Several nature reserves are nearby, such as National Park De Hoge Veluwe, the sand drifts at Kootwijk, the Speulder forest at Garderen and the Ginkelse Hei (heath) near Ede.

To the beach
At only 3 kilometers from ’t Bakhuys you will find recreation area Zeumeren. Zeumeren offers a large outdoor swimming area and sandy beach. There are outdoor playgrounds for the children. At Zeumeren you will also find Schateiland, a large indoor playground for children from 0 – 12 years old.
